Why You Shouldn’t Drink Apple Cider Vinegar

Seriously though guys…I’m not out to impose my beliefs on you but just do as I say and don’t question it 😂…

Not a new trend here, but lately I feel I’m seeing more of an Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) highlight/craze again. Health claims associated with drinking a couple shots of the liquid form before a meal or with water include detoxification, digestion support, and there’s studies associating it with lowering cholesterol and even weight loss.

OK…you can be the judge on how loose or good those studies are in your own time. My point is that if you’re wanting to include this as some sort of supplement in to your routine, DON’T DRINK IT. Here’s why…

It. Just. Tastes. Awful. It tastes awful plain. It tastes awful mixed in with other things to try and mask it. ACV is not meant to be a drink to sip and enjoy, obviously, as it’s not made for “taste”. In the same way you don’t drink regular vinegar (used for cooking) or, geez, rubbing alcohol, why would you try and DRINK apple cider vinegar? Please, listen to your taste buds, which is millions of years of evolution in the making telling you not to eat poison berries or drink bitter liquid ACV…trust me I’ve tried various brands including the most famous one, Bragg’s (pictured), and none of them were tolerable in my opinion.

BRAGG Apple Cider Vinegar – The most famous liquid form

The solution here and my best practice is taking an ACV supplement instead. I pop two of these a day, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Simple, easy to swallow, and no other issues (gas, bad aftertaste, etc.) are associated with this for me. This way I can take part in all of ACV’s alleged benefits and not have to suffer through a liquid shot of it. PLUS, a lot of the supplements actually contain more concentrated ACV than the actual liquid. More bang for your bucks folks.
