OOTD or OOTM: Sweatpants Rule Postpartum 😂

Well here I am two weeks postpartum and I was going to say “NOTHING fits right, I’ve been wearing sweatpants the whole time”, however, actually I’m going to say that “EVERYTHING fits right, I’ve been wearing sweatpants the whole time.” 😉

With February and the beginning of March being cold and frankly not worth going outside, I can’t complain that the beginning of my maternity leave has corresponded with needing to wear comfy, warm clothes.

I don’t have a go-to expensive sweatsuit or Lulu item to recommend haha, however I’ll admit I pull basically anything from the Express One Eleven line to wear as my day-to-day, non-active “activewear”. As I continue to heal and ‘deflate’ post baby, these comfy and soft clothes are my outfit of the month.

Fall Wants

Fall wardrobe, how I’ve missed you! Seriously love a comfy sweater dress and pairing it with some knee high boots. You’re covered up (almost completely) but the form fitting duo makes you feel confident and sexy. How awesome is it that this sweater dress from H&M is only $24? It’s a steal!

Feeling Neutral

Fall and sooner than you know it winter – I think of cozy sweaters, boots, coats, and leather. I always gravitate towards grays, blacks, and darker neutral colors. There’s just something not right about wearing a pink or bright and colorful sweater for Fall. Save it for Spring, right?

Seriously excited about this Botkier Leroy Satchel – I just ordered mine today!

Altuzarra for Target

You’ve seen the commercials and all the fashion magazine social media mentions. The Altuzarra for Target collection will officially be available for purchase this Sunday, September, 14. If you seriously want any of these pieces, however, get in line that Sunday morning or be at your computer at the stroke of midnight to start ordering. I am betting that this collection sells out the very day it goes on sale. My favorite pieces are below, and you can view the entire collection at Target’s website.

Fall Afternoon Walk Down Park Avenue

If you’re wearing an outfit this expensive, then you’re probably not going to take a true ‘walk’ down Park Avenue, but rather a walk from your multi-million dollar apartment to your town car. And anyways, a long walk isn’t worth scuffing up your Jimmy Choos, right?

Forget the price range of this outfit. The point is that it’s finally September, and you can pull out your favorite fall wardrobe pieces. I like being able to integrate leather tops and skirts (real or fake I don’t care as long as it looks good) in to my fall and of course winter wear. It’s sexy and sophisticated. dressy work outfit

Florals For Fall

Everyone does florals for spring, sure, but there’s nothing wrong with integrating florals in to your fall outfits. A little more subtle and a lot less bright than spring colors, but still feminine and gorgeous.

Dinnerware Lust vs. Must

A couple months ago I discovered Kelly Wearstler’s amazing fine china collection and since then have been wondering how in the world am I going to find the right dinnerware pieces that translate this to everyday. It would be a lot easier if I had loads of cash and could just buy Kelly’s fine china collection and use it daily and feel like a princess, BUT, that is not my fate (yet haha). I mean just look at how amazing some of these hand painted pieces are:

Fortunately I think I have come across an extremely affordable option from IKEA. Their TICKAR dinnerware series in black and white has the modern, two toned look I want that is a little more interesting than you’re typical white set. Although there’s no gold anywhere in sight, I can easily add gold touches in with place mats, napkins, and centerpiece options that I can mix up whenever I want. And when I say this is an affordable option, I’m not exaggerating in the least. If you purchase 6 of each item in this series (that’s two different types of bowls and three different types of plates), you’ll only spend $113.70 plus tax. THAT’S IT. Definitely a MUST!ikea tickar dinnerware Tickar Series
