The $15 Amazon Purchase I Use Every Single Day (And It’s Made Me Slightly MORE Obsessed with Homemade Margaritas)
I have to laugh because if someone asked me what kitchen gadget I’ve gotten the most use out of this year, it would honestly be this little Amazon citrus juicer… and I think it was not even $15.

Meanwhile, there are people spending hundreds of dollars on fancy juicers that take up half the counter.
This one? It sits in my kitchen, takes about 30 seconds to use, and gets used almost every single day.
Lately with it I’ve been making my “Virgin Spicy Margarita.” The only thing it’s missing to make it better is the tequila. 😂
It’s refreshing, it’s naturally sweet from fresh fruit, and it somehow feels like you’re sitting on a patio somewhere instead of standing in your kitchen trying to survive another weekday.
The Juicer
This is the inexpensive citrus juicer I’ve been using:

It’s simple, easy to clean, and honestly works better than I expected for the price. Fresh citrus juice tastes completely different than bottled juice, and once you start making your own, it’s hard to go back.
My Virgin Spicy Margarita Recipe

Ingredients
- Juice of 1 lime
- Juice of 1 fresh orange
- 2–4 slices of fresh jalapeño (depending on how spicy you like it)
- Ice
- Splash of San Pellegrino sparkling water
- Salt for the rim
Optional: Instead of sparkling water, top it with a non-alcoholic champagne if you want it to feel a little more festive. Brands Mionetto or this Sutter Home version have been fine to work with.
How I Make It
- Rim your glass with lime and coarse salt.
- Juice the lime and orange using the citrus juicer.
- Add the fresh juice and jalapeño slices to a shaker or glass filled with ice.
- Let the jalapeños sit for a minute if you like extra heat.
- Pour into your salted glass.
- Top with a splash of San Pellegrino (or non-alcoholic champagne).
- Stir, sip, and pretend you’re on vacation.
Why I Love It
I’m always trying to find little ways to make healthier habits actually enjoyable instead of feeling like I’m sacrificing something.

This drink feels special enough that I don’t miss having alcohol, but it’s still packed with fresh citrus and has that perfect combination of sweet, tart, salty, and spicy.
It’s become one of those afternoon rituals I genuinely look forward to.
Funny enough, the MVP of the whole recipe isn’t the sparkling water or even the jalapeño…
It’s the little $15 juicer that somehow gets used more than almost every other kitchen gadget I own.
If you’re trying to drink a little less, add more fresh fruit to your day, or just love spicy margaritas as much as I do, I’d highly recommend giving this recipe a try.
Just don’t blame me when you start buying oranges and limes by the dozen.
