A Tree That Shines (In Every Color!)
So I’ve been using the same Christmas tree for the past decade and it fit nicely in our previous home. This holiday season however I knew it was time to “upgrade”, however, I had no idea that getting a pre-lit Christmas tree can get pretty expensive. In a Google search it looks like you can get some really nice ones for over $1000 and there’s no way in hell I would do that lol.
I also knew that in our living room at our new house with a higher ceiling it was going to look best to do a 9 foot tree…so yes, typically/logically the taller the tree the more expensive it’s going to get. 🤦🏼♀️ Well crap I thought this would be easier, but I really had no idea what the current market is for fake trees and I guess was a little surprised that they can cost $600-$1000 😮 pretty easily.
Whatever Lola Wants
Anyways, I had in my head that I wanted a pre-lit tree that also changed colors and wasn’t just white light or the standard multicolored lights. I wanted to have options where I could twinkle, fade, have it be on a timer, etc. and honestly thought those options would be pretty standard, but come to find out that’s actually not the case.
I could only find this one option (pictured) that fit this entire scenario on Amazon (ugh 😬) and I realize it’s pretty risky to order something like this online because you don’t know how crappy the tree could possibly look/be, and frankly, I wasn’t too impressed by the product pics. So instead I first I decided to shop around locally to see if I could find something similar that met that criteria.

The Hunt 🎄
The trees at Costco look pretty cool and in person are full and have the standard pre-lit white lights as an option. I also saw a very decent amount of options at a store called at home and I probably would go back there for like more unique decorative trees (like think a pink tree or even a black tree). There were seriously some interesting options that you may not think look good until you see them in person.
So I obviously did not find anything locally in person that was fully what I wanted so I decided to take the risk/roll the dice and order this 9 foot Pre—lit Christmas tree off of Amazon. So far I’m very happy with the way this has turned out. Now I realize the tree has to “last” in terms of lights not going out or whatever but obviously I don’t expect that to be the case for at least a couple years. I think it looks great and love the fact that it can change to all these different colors… Lol that must be the Perspire Sauna Studio in me that likes the 🌈 chromotherapy.

The Fluff Factor
The tree is super easy to assemble obviously and you will spend some time “fluffing” it, but that is to be expected with any tree and certainly one that arrives in a box lol.
Accessories
I also didn’t have the right size ornaments for this tree because I was using smaller ones in the past that fit better on a 6 foot tree so I had to get new bulbs for this as well, and decided to just do a mix of gold to keep it simple. All of the ornament sizes are 100mm (so just under 4 inches) and I got the ones in the picture from Hobby Lobby. I needed approximately 60 to 70 to do what’s pictured in terms of coverage. Lol I’d say it looks great considering I’m not going to go crazy on the decoration and this totally fits my level of decor.
Gold tree collar is also from Amazon (linked) and I’ve also just linked some Amazon 4 inch gold bulb options below. What do you think?

Final Thoughts
If you’re considering upgrading your Christmas tree this year, don’t be afraid to take the plunge and order online. This 9-foot LED pre-lit tree has all the features you could want—height, fullness, and customizable lighting—without the hefty price tag. Sure, you’ll spend some time fluffing it out the first time, but the final result is worth every minute.
Now, every time I walk into my living room, I’m greeted by a tree that feels like it’s straight out of a holiday movie. It’s the perfect centerpiece for the season, and I’m so glad I made the investment.
Ready to transform your holidays? Consider giving an Amazon tree a try—you just might end up as pleasantly surprised as I was!
