Beauty Sleep 💤 and Your Skin

OK, so anytime I hear the term “Beauty Sleep” I kind of think of that joke where someone says they need to get some beauty sleep and then you reply back “oh wow, you probably need to sleep for like a month” (😆 me laughing at my own jokes)

Anyways there’s quite a bit of truth though to the saying beauty sleep as in you do need a normal & consistent amount of rest to have a more optimal less swollen and tired look the next day. Sleep plays a crucial role in skin health. During deep sleep, your body repairs itself, which includes regenerating skin cells, reducing inflammation, and producing collagen. Without enough rest, you may notice dullness, puffiness, and even premature aging.

To maximize your beauty sleep:

  1. Hydrate Before Bed: Use a rich night cream or serum to keep your skin moisturized overnight. I use the Revision Skincare DEJ Night Cream
  2. Sleep on Silk: Silk pillowcases reduce friction and prevent sleep lines. The primo version lately has been this Slip brand all silk luxury pillowcase
  3. Prioritize Consistency: Establish a regular sleep schedule to ensure you’re getting the recommended 7-9 hours.

Getting your full night’s rest can be one of the easiest (and cheapest!) ways to keep your skin looking fresh and rejuvenated. Make sleep your number-one beauty secret, and from time to time throw in that “beauty sleep” jab 😆 when the opportunity presents itself.
