Every Spring this happens. I get an itch for a new pair of shades (see post from a year ago). Probably because I’m spending more time outside. #obvi
But sunglasses are important. I literally wear them everyday. You should too. This isn’t even for vanity purposes. Well actually, it is. But not from the designer standpoint. Even if my sunglasses were $1 and somewhat uncomfortable, I would still wear them in my car and outside because it keeps you from squinting, which keeps your skin from wrinkling. It also blocks the more tender skin around your eyes from the harmful & aging rays of the sun. Oh, even though we all love sunshine, when it comes to protecting your skin, you kind of need to “avoid” the sun like the plague. Or coronavirus….🤦
Anyways, the ‘life hack’ of sunglasses and getting a nice pair can happen for you (and does for me every year) via Saks Off Fifth. First of all, there’s a plethora of ‘designer’ brands to choose from. Second of all, and fun fact to know, is these ‘designer’ brands usually outsource their accessories to a third party manufacturer. Like seriously all of them do. Which is fine, I wouldn’t expect a seamstress from Prada to be able to also whip out a quality pair of shades for their runaway shows, however, keep that in mind when you’re thinking about paying full price tag for ‘designer’ when it really didn’t come from ‘the house’, if you know what I mean.
Ok enough rambling, the final point before I share some great deals (limited time) from Saks OFF Fifth is these sunglasses are still nice, and in my opinion, opt for METAL FRAMES versus plastic. Metal is technically of higher quality. Plastic, is, yes, just plastic, and you can get plastic frames at the gas station. So paying $100+ for plastic ‘designer’ frames just turns me off a bit, however, I have done it before if the frame is bulkier and meant to look that way. There’s some ‘plastic’ frames below, but they’re still a great deal. Happy shopping!
I have put in a lot of effort in my new blog. Please check it out and drop a follow.
